iMedia

This course is a collaborative interdisciplinary effort to research, design, develop and study interactive news and advertising for television broadcast and iPhone and iTouch mobile devices. Students work in teams to conceptualize and develop news and advertising content in the context of interface development and the research-informed design process.

These interdisciplinary groups comprised of students from advertising, journalism graphics, telecommunications news and multimedia, and computer science.

We explore concepts related to interaction design, aesthetics, content management, and qualitative research, usability, advertising principles and journalistic values, as well as work in software programs that facilitate multimedia storytelling and interface development.
